What Is Booty Camp?

Booty Camp is outdoor fitness designed by women, for women. Think of it as Boot Camp for Girls Only, focussing on the kind of exercises that get us the results we want - to be fitter, faster, stronger and more toned in the areas we care about. Booty Camp runs 6 week courses, twice a week. There is no membership and you can leave at the end of any 6 week course if you want to. Our campers stay because they want to, not because they signed a contract. Over 70% of our campers come back again and again though, so we must be getting something right.

Do I need to be fit to come to Booty Camp?

You definitely don't need to be fit before you start but we absoloutely insist you leave us fitter than you came to us - so it's just as well 100% of our clients are fitter at the end of a course than they are at the start (we know because we measure). Booty Camp is designed to cater to all fitness levels and in any class we have a mix of Gym Junkies and Gym Avoiders - the trainers are experts at making sure everyone in the class is challenged to their max whilst doing the same types of exercises (just tailored to you). At the start of every course the trainer does a fitness assessment so they know what you are capable of achieving and you can see how much you have improved at the end. We do not expect you to be fit at the start of Booty Camp - its our mission to get you there.

I'm really very fit already, will I be challenged at Booty Camp?

Oh yes. We have a lot of campers who have been with us for a long time - and they're fitness levels improve every time they do a course - so believe us there are some very fit girls in Booty Camp - and they still tell us they are challenged by their trainers. Booty Camp is designed to cater to all fitness levels and at the start of every course we do a fitness assessment so we know how hard we can push you - the trainers are experts at making sure everyone in the class is challenged as much as they want or ask to be

What kind of exercises do you do in Booty Camp?

Booty Camp is all about mixing it up, so we don't have set exercises for every class. To keep you and your body challenged we make sure no two classes are the same so there is no set answer. But the kind of exercises you should expect to cover in a course are hill sprints, sand running, stair-work, boxing, circuits, lunges, squats, burpies, resistance training using your own body weight or toys, press-ups and triceps and of course sit-ups. I'm exhausted just thinking about it...

Is there lots of running?

There is some running but Booty Camp is all about variety, and running for one hour just would not be fun. We don't have a set class so trainers can cater to the fitness levels in their group, and keep you challenged - but on average no more than a quarter to the third of the class is running and the trainer will vary how the running is done to challenge you without killing you.

How many are in the class?

On average there are about 8 or 9 girls in most of our classes and we have a rule there is never more than 12. We have found that is just the right class size so everyone feels like a team and has fun but still gets the individual attention they need (and deserve).

How long is each class?

Each class is an hour.

I've got an old sports injury - is it safe?

If you have any concerns at all you should first check with a doctor or physio about starting training again - we never push anyone harder than they can go but at the same time it is designed to be hard work and if you have an injury that has not healed properly it will likely stress it. If you are "fit to train", you are in safe hands. All our trainers are qualified to Cert IV which means they are experts in training for campers with watch-out areas. We will also have you do a brief health screener with us before you start and the trainers read them all before they train you for the first time, so this is a great way to let us know if there is anything we need to be wary of. They will tailor your exercises as long as they know.

What happens if it rains?

Unless its really absolutely disgusting, our philosophy is "if it rains, we still train" - mostly because we noticed that calories still go to our hips the same way whatever the weather. Trainers will only call off the training if it is deemed to be unsafe but it will be location-specific. Beach locations generally go ahead all the time. On the very rare occassions they have to cancel, a make up class will be scheduled within the 6 week period. Otherwise they structure the classes around the weather and train you under shelter if it is available

What happens if I miss a class?

We've structured Booty Camp to offer the best training and best value for everyone - so we have a no make-up policy. I know that sounds really inflexible but its whats fair for everyone - we would have to increase everyone's costs otherwise. Also, if you are going on holiday mid-course but still want to join for 4 or 5 weeks (to make sure your bikini body is up to it) , and there are spaces on the class (which there usually is) we can book you onto the class for the time you are here and only charge you for the classes you book for, although we do need advanced notice.

Where do you have classes?

We run courses all over Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth - for a full list of current locations click the link.

What time do you train?

We have morning classes (before work), evening classes (after work) and occassionally, we run lunch time classes in the CBD for the working gals. We are looking to add some Mums N Bubs classes as well so feel free to let us know if you are interested. For more information click the link.

How do I know where I meet the class?

On the Friday before you begin your course, you will receive a maplink by email and an SMS confirming who your trainer is, their mobile number (in case you need to reach them) and the meeting point. Your trainer will also receive your contact details and will be looking out for you on your first day.

What should I bring with me and what should I wear?

We recommend training clothes suitable for the weather (either shorts, legging or tracksuit), a T-shirt and runners. Some Booty Campers also like to wear a light waterproof jacket. In the winter months, make sure you are nicely rugged up. Just remember, once you have warmed up and start training you will want to strip some layers off. You really need to have a bottle of water on you - you will be worked hard and will need a drink. You should also have a small towel handy - one you can carry while you run, its amazing how many useful jobs a towel can do - its something to lie on, something to wipe with or if you need it - something to hide under. If you have car keys on you your trainer can look after them while you train - just remember to get them back. But theres no need to carry a bag.

What does Booty Camp Cost and how do I pay?

Your first course costs $260 for 6 weeks, 2 classes a week - that works out at less than $22 a class, compare that to personal trainer rates! You are not locked into any membership with Booty Camp and there is no joining fee, so you can leave at the end of any course without being penalised. Our campers stay with us because they want to, not because we made them sign a contract. If you book a course within 3 months of your last one, your class costs drop to $230 - just over $18 a class. Of course, a lot of our campers stay with us for a long time and we do reward loyalty. If you train with us for 3 courses in a row, you become a VIBC (Very Important Booty Camper) and you only pay $200 ongoing.

Do I get a discount if I sign up with a friend?

The more the merrier. If you and a friend sign up together not only will it be more fun, we'll give you each $30 off your course.

You don't have a class where I live, are you starting any new ones?

We are always starting new classes and would love your suggestions for where there should be. We will start a class almost anywhere within 4 weeks where there are 6 girls wanting to train at the same time and place. If you bring us a group of 6 girls we will give everyone else in your group a discount of $30 for your first two courses and we will give you your first course half price to say thanks for a great idea.

I'm a boy, can I train at Booty Camp?
